e-Fuel
derives 67% of it's carbohydrate energy from complex carbohydrates
(maltodextrin), significantly more than the leading sports drinks (see
chart below). Because of this, e-Fuel provides up to 50% more energy than other isotonic
sports drinks containing glucose, sucrose and dextrose. Equally as
important is the rate at which energy is delivered to your body, and
e-Fuel's sustained energy formula is designed to avoid blood sugar
fluctuations that lead to the dreaded "bonk".
Drinks that contain 0% complex carbohydrates, such as Gatorade (liquid),
use 100% sugars. So, if complex carbohydrates are preferred, then why do
the majority of leading sports drinks use so much sugar? The answer is
quite simple - taste. Simple sugars are sweet and add flavor to the
product. Complex carbohydrates on the other hand tend to be very bland
tasting in comparison. When you're trying to sell your product to the
masses, sweeter drinks will appeal to more people. e-Fuel is NOT
designed for the masses, it is designed for high performance athletes.
As such, you'll probably never see e-Fuel at your local 7-11 convenience
store.
When you try e-Fuel for the first time, you will notice it is less sweet
and sticky than the leading sports drinks, and the taste is refreshing
and clean.
